Day One

As you can see, it was raining, so we practiced skimming stones on Jenny Lake.
When the rain slowed to a drizzle, we took a brief hike around Leigh Lake. Of course Lee had to climb every rock we saw along the way.
Melba and I spent the first two days trying to convince the kids that there really were mountains up there. Here was a glimmer of proof.
In the afternoon, the rain stopped long enough for us to take a small motor boat out on Jackson Lake. Unfortunately, it didn't stop long enough for us to make it back to shore! It was a very helpless feeling being out on the lake and not being able to get out of the rain. We got drenched and the temperature was around 50 degrees. Fortunately no one got sick.
